As part of the release of Danica Patrick's 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, JR Motorsports also said Thursday that Kelly Bires may not run the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Bires, who is slated to drive the No. 88 Chevrolet this year, could miss the first race of the season - depending on what the team does with Patrick.

JRM said it would field two cars for Daytona, but because of "sponsorship reallocation for the upcoming season," Dale Earnhardt Jr. will drive the No. 88 Hellmann’s Chevrolet in place of Bires at Daytona. Bires will return to the No. 88 for the second race of the season, at Auto Club Speedway.

Bires still could drive he second JRM entry, the No. 7 Chevrolet, at Daytona should Patrick not compete in that event.
