Kevin Harvick blasts Talladega field in Nationwide Series qualifying

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Kevin Harvick put his No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet on the pole for Saturday's Aaron's 312 NASCAR Nationwide Series race, qualifying more than four tenths of a second faster than runner-up Carl Edwards.

Harvick's pole-winning speed was 187.375 mph, beating Edwards' lap of 185.754 by 0.446 seconds. Edwards' Roush Fenway Racing teammate, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., qualified third.

Steve Arpin, making his Nationwide debut for JR Motorsports, qualified fourth, with ML Motorsports' Shelby Howard fifth.

The rest of the top 10: Reed Sorenson, Jason Leffler, Paul Menard, Parker Kligerman and Brian Keselowski.

Kevin Lepage, Willie Allen, Jeremy Clements, Josh Wise and Derrike Cope failed to qualify.
