Trip Bruce named interim crew chief for Jason Leffler's NASCAR Nationwide Series team
Braun Racing has named Trip Bruce as interim crew chief for its No. 38 NASCAR Nationwide Series team and driver Jason Leffler, effective for the next three races.
Bruce replaces Scott Zipadelli, who joined the team for the 2009 season.
Leffler will actually be driving Braun's No. 10 Toyota in this weekend's race at Darlington Raceway, but the No. 38 team moves to the No. 10 entry whenever Leffler drives it. Kasey Kahne is in the No. 38 for Darlington, with his regular crew chief, Stewart Cooper, moving with him.
Bruce will serve as Leffler's crew chief for Darlington, Dover and Charlotte.
"We felt it was necessary to make some changes on the No. 38 team as performance has struggled this season," team owner Todd Braun said. "We are looking for a spark to ignite the team and improve their on-track performance. We have been through a lot of good races with Jason and I feel like this is a better team than results have shown."
Leffler finished fourth in the 2009 Nationwide standings, with eight top-five and 20 top-10 finishes. But he's only 15th this year, with one top-10.

Hmmmmm…..so for Jason’s poor on track performance they replace the Crew Chief? The talent is a “has-been”…… the Crew Chief is what made him get as far as he did last year. Good Luck Scott, I hope you end up with a team who will respect you for YOUR talent and dedication.

What a joke. THE CAR IS NOT THE PROBLEM. Jason does not have what it takes to be a champion. He is coming off a career best season because the team and especially the crew chief carried him. Should have gave that seat to Kelly Bires. I would love to see Kelly and Scott together again. Now thats a winning team. Good Luck Scott. Hope you end up on a good team and stick it to him every week. It wont be difficult with Jasons lack luster performance. Mr Braun, get ready for some regret filled sleepless nights. I think you just lost quite a few fans.

Found this and thought it was worth sharing
How was your race?
"The first two runs we were really tight. Scott Zipadelli (crew chief), I can’t thank him enough and my boys enough on the Great Clips Camry. Everybody at Braun did a great job for me today to run third at Texas. It’s pretty awesome for us. I just got loose with two (laps) to go. I was just driving and I don’t know why I was driving so hard. I was pulling away from the 29 (Casey Mears), but I wasn’t catching the 18 (Kyle Busch). I was trying to run consistent laps and I think I ran on the apron a little bit and it about took me out of the race. The guys did a great job on pit road. They got me up there. It was a great weekend for us, we qualified well and once we got the car adjusted up it moved well."

I can’t agree more. Zipadelli brought alot of fans to Braun Racing and I do think they will regret not replacing the driver in the long run. Jason is capable of no more than what he has given them in the last 5 years. He’s not a strong enough driver to take them further than 4th where the ended last year, which was their best year yet, under the direction of Scott Zipadelli. I’m sure many teams are trying to figure out how to create a spot for Scott right now and he’ll be doing a great job for someone else very soon. No worries!

That’s NASCAR for you… Try to fix a problem by creating another one. Scott is the best part of that teamand they made a big mistake with taking him off the box. The new chief(if you can call him that) is a joke. Look at his past and you will see. Braun racing is scrambling right now cause there out of cash and the talent behind the wheel is NOT getting it done..It’s not the TALENT that’s on the box that’s the problem….Scott, you deserve to be with a class act team, not this group of misfits.

Hope Jason enjoys that “lucky” finish the other night……that will be it for a LONG, LONG time!
He must have felt like he pulled a rabbit out of the hat will all his fine remarks he made about his crew! But that too shall change when he screws up again…… Todd Braun should consider Lenscrafters not Great Clips as a sponser!
