The recent trend of decreasing television ratings for the NASCAR Nationwide Series continued with the Oct. 14 Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage at Charlotte Motor Speedway
The Charlotte race earned a 1.1 household coverage rating on ESPN2, the fourth race in a row that garnered a similar rating.
But that was also the 12th consecutive comparable race that saw decreased ratings over its 2010 counterpart (the Chicago race was new for 2011, so did not have a comparable race).
Seventeen of the 31 races this year have seen ratings decreases over 2010.
The Charlotte race averaged 1,543,000 viewers.
