NASCAR Nationwide Series TV ratings continue downward trend at Dover

NASCAR Nationwide Series television ratings have seen a downward turn in the second half of the season, with the OneMain Financial 200 at Dover International Speedway on Oct. 1 the ninth race in a row to see ratings even or lower than its 2010 version.

ESPN2’s live telecast of the Dover race earned a 1.1 household coverage rating, averaging 1,443,000 viewers. The 2010 race earned a 1.2 rating.

The figures were released by ESPN, based on Nielsen Company figures.

The Chicago race on Sept. 17 was not included in the spiral because it was a new race for 2011.
