Nashville To You recording artist Chuck Wicks will play a live post-race concert immediately following the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway on April 23.
The race is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. local time, and the concert is free to all April 23 race ticket holders.
Wicks hails from the small town of Smyrna, Del., and getting to where he is today hasn't come easily. Although he took the country music format by storm in 2008 with his Top 5 debut single, "Stealing Cinderella," and his Top 15 follow-up hit, "All I Ever Wanted," he continues to work hard to develop his craft.
He spent several years paying his dues by parking cars and writing songs, while apprenticing with some of country music's top songwriters. His hard work eventually paid off, as he began to tour relentlessly, including the entire 2008 Brad Paisley Tour. In 2009, his appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars earned him even more national recognition.
Wicks just completed a new project to be released this summer, which includes his song "Hold That Thought." The video for "Hold That Thought" spent 8 weeks in the Top 10 on Great American Country's Top 20 Countdown, including 2 weeks at No. 2. His current single, "Old School," is receiving positive feedback among country music fans.
NASCAR returns to Nashville Superspeedway in 2011 with two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series-NASCAR Nationwide Series doubleheaders on April 22-23 and July 22-23. For more information, call 1-866-RACE-TIX or visit NashvilleSuperspeedway.com.
