For two drivers with blank firesuits, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne sure are pretty busy guys.
The 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie of the year and the 2011 Daytona 500 winner (respectively) are part of RickyVsTrevor.com, Roush Fenway Racing's way for fans to get to know their NNS drivers a bit better.
On the site, there are videos, trash talk, pictures and more.
The inside look to the young drivers is a great PR move by the racing team.
For example, here's a snippet of the "trash talk" section:
Stenhouse: I'm totally trash-talking you. Go away and cry now.
Bayne: I'm not crying! I got dust in my eye. Dust that I left you in. :D
Bayne: How many Daytona 500's have you won lately?"
Stenhouse: And, how many Nationwide Rookie of the Year titles do you have?"
Bayne: I don't see you sportin' any bling like this, Dude!"
Stenhouse: Remind me who's leading the points again, son?"
There are "challenge videos" (like who can be the Jimmie Johnson of ping pong by getting five balls in a row into a glass ... I won't tell you who the winner is) and my favorite part - the post-race videos.
While Bayne may be driving in the Sprint Cup series for the Wood Brothers, he is under contract with RFR in the Nationwide Series, which is where this fun rivalry is forming. Each week, the higher-finishing of the two gets to put their picture on the head of an old Mark Martin doll. The one that's lower goes on the butt.
So despite winning the Daytona 500, Bayne was on the butt thanks to a 10th-place NNS finish to Stenhouse's eighth-place.
The site is also fan interactive, asking fans to post ideas for the next challenge videos to the Roush Fenway Facebook page.
This weekend the Nationwide Series is off. While you're going through withdrawals, head over to www.rickyvstrevor.com and see what all the fun is about.
Maybe one of your challenge ideas will be the next video.
