Carl Edwards relaxes before the start of the NASCAR Nationwide Series Bucyrus 200 at Road America last year.

Carl Edwards is a strong road-course racer, but he's never had wild success at Infineon Raceway. In six prior Sprint Cup starts there, he has just two top-10 finishes, and none better than sixth.
Could it be because he's logging so many miles in trying to race at both the Nationwide Series stop in Wisconsin and the Cup stop in Northern California in the same weekend? The numbers may bear that out. Edwards' record at Watkins Glen, the Cup Series' other road-course stop, is far better. He has five top-10 finishes in six races, and Edwards does no traveling that weekend-the Nationwide race is also at the Glen.
Also working against Edwards are the additional media obligations that go with winning races, and Edwards has won in Wisconsin the last three years.
