Joey Logano, Kyle Busch qualify 1-2 for Joe Gibbs Racing in California

FONTANA, Calif. - Joe Gibbs Racing dominated qualifying for the Stater Bros. 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Auto Club Speedway, with Joey Logano winning the pole and Kyle Busch qualifying second.

Logano turned a lap of 181.283 mph in the No. 20 Toyota, with Busch going 179.906 mph in the No. 18 Toyota.

The pole was Logano's eighth in 43 Nationwide Series races.

Raybestos Rookie of the Year candidate Brian Scott was third for Braun Racing, with Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards fourth and Baker Curb Racing's Greg Biffle fifth.

JR Motorsports' Danica Patrick starts 36th in her second Nationwide race.

Morgan Shepherd, Danny O'Quinn Jr., Stephen Leicht, Johnny Chapman, Andy Ponstein and Jeremy Clements failed to qualify.
