Paul Menard is tops in first Nationwide practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS - Roush Fenway Racing's Paul Menard led the first NASCAR Nationwide Series practice at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon.

Menard, in the No. 98 Ford, went 179.868 mph to edge Baker Curb Racing's Greg Biffle, who posted a fast lap of 179.313 mph.

Roush Fenway's Carl Edwards was third, with Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch fourth and Braun Racing's Brian Vickers fifth.
