Former NASCAR driver Ricky Craven, a winner in all three of NASCAR’s top series during his driving career, will make his debut as an analyst on a NASCAR race telecast when he works in the booth for ESPN’s coverage of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, April 3.
The Newburgh, Me., native will join fellow analyst Dale Jarrett and lap-by-lap announcer Marty Reid in the Nashville broadcast booth. Craven is in his third year as an analyst for ESPN’s studio programs, including NASCAR Now, SportsCenter and First Take, but the Nashville race will mark his first work on a race telecast.
Craven is working the Nashville race as a fill-in for regular analyst Andy Petree, who will have the weekend off. He is scheduled to work several other Nationwide Series race telecasts during the 2010 season as ESPN rotates announcers to provide some time off.
The Nashville race telecast airs on ESPN at 4 p.m. ET on April 3.
