NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Brian Scott's broken wrist bone is nearly fully healed

By Lee Montgomery

RICHMOND, Va. – Braun Racing driver Brian Scott said Friday a broken bone in his right is nearly fully healed.

Scott suffered the injury in a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race last June, but the bone has been slow to heal. He had been wearing a brace to speed up the process, but he doesn’t any more.

"The wrist is doing a lot better," Scott said Friday at Richmond International Raceway, site of Friday’s Nationwide Series race. "I don’t have to wear a brace non-stop, and I’m going through some physical therapy on range-of-motion and strength training. I don’t think it’s quite 100 percent, but we’re probably in the 90th percentile now. Hopefully it’s going to continue and heal the rest of the way, that little bit it still has left."

Scott has another scan of the wrist schedule for June.

"I’m going to go and get it re-imaged at Duke University in June," Scott said. "Judging off of my last scan and everything, hopefully then it will show it’s 100 percent."
