NASCAR puts Clint Bowyer on probation for Dover incident

Richard Childress Racing driver Clint Bowyer has been placed on probation until June 16 for a rule violation committed during the May 15 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover International Speedway.

Bowyer drove into the side of Denny Hamlin's car under caution during the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover, retaliation for an accident on the previous restart involving the two drivers.

NASCAR said Bowyer violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing – aggressive driving) of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rule Book.
