ELKHART LAKE, Wis. - Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards set the fastest lap in the first group of NASCAR Nationwide Series cars during qualifying Saturday for the inaugural Bucyrus 200, and the speed held up as Edwards won the pole for today's race.
Edwards' lap was 108.076 mph, nearly a half-second faster than second-place Jacques Villeneuve. The former Formula One champion went 107.735 mph in Braun Racing's Toyota.
Colin Braun qualified third, with Brad Coleman fourth and Michael McDowell fifth.
Sixth through 10th were Brendan Gaughan, Patrick Long, Paul Menard, Owen Kelly and Tony Ave.
