Press release: WOW! Foods will sponsor No. 7 JR Motorsports car on July 2

HICKORY, N.C. (June 30, 2010) – WOW! Foods, a food manufacturer launched in April 2010, has announced that it will be the primary sponsor of the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet in the July 2 Nationwide Series event at Daytona International Speedway.

Nationwide Series rookie Steve Arpin, who has made four starts for JR Motorsports this season, will be behind the wheel of the WOW! Foods machine.

"I’m thrilled to represent WOW! Foods in the 7 car," said Arpin. "The night race at Daytona is always an exciting race and the WOW! Foods Chevrolet is going to look awesome under the lights. They offer some great tasting products and we’re hoping to introduce them to the legions of food-loving NASCAR fans through this partnership. They also have a lot of history with the Earnhardt family, so we want to give them a finish they can be proud of this weekend."

Racing star Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR’s most popular driver each of the last seven years, has been an associate of WOW! Foods owner Jimmy Richardson for more than 20 years, dating back to Earnhardt’s short-track racing days.

"Some race fans might remember our sponsorship of Dale Earnhardt Jr. with the Mom n’ Pops brand dating back to his late model days," Richardson said. "Dale has come a long way since then and so has WOW! Foods. It’s a privilege to be aligned with Dale Jr. and offer consumers our debut of Dale Jr. sandwiches and appetizers."

WOW! Foods, currently available in vending machines, unveiled Dale Jr.-branded products in April including wings, no-bonz wings, a cheeseburger, fillet of chicken, spicy fillet of chicken and double-glazed honey barbeque pork sandwiches.

WOW! Foods will introduce seven new Dale Jr. products in October and will soon be seen in club and convenience stores.

"Our relationship with the Richardson family started back when Dale Jr. and I drove late models, and it’s great to be able to continue that relationship with the things we have in place now for WOW! Foods,’ said Kelly Earnhardt, co-owner and general manager of JR Motorsports. "We look forward to seeing WOW! Foods branding on our No. 7 car this weekend at Daytona with Steve Arpin, and obviously the licensing agreement we have in place to bring WOW! Foods into the homes of the race fans. This partnership means a lot to me, and it means a lot to Dale Jr. The Richardsons are like family to us."
