Brad Keselowski won a series-record $154,743 when he captured last year’s U.S. Cellular 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway.
Part of that figure comes from the bonus he won from Nationwide Insurance’s Dash 4 Cash program.
What did he do with his portion?
"I’m not gonna lie," Keselowski said. "I made a little bit of that. It wasn’t as big a chunk as everybody asks. I asked for a lot of loans, I can tell you that."
A chunk of his portion of the winnings was used to help Keselowski’s parents, Bob and Kay.
"I combined some of that money I made with the money I made (from winning the Sprint Cup race) at Talladega and put together a nice little plan for my family’s retirement, so that was cool, for my mom and dad," Keselowski said. "But I don’t think they’re ever gonna (retire)."
