4.8: Brad Keselowski’s average finish through the first 18 races of the 35-race NASCAR Nationwide Series season. The season record for lowest average finish is 4.2, set by Sam Ard in 28 races in 1984. Ard suffered a career-ending injury in a crash in the 28th race, at Rockingham, but still won his second series championship despite missing the final race a week later at Martinsville. Kevin Harvick had a 4.6 average finish in 2006, starting all 35 races.
