Trey-vor Bayne: Young driver first to win 3 consecutive poles in 18 years

NEWTON, Iowa - Trevor Bayne became the youngest driver in NASCAR Nationwide Series history to win three consecutive poles as he claimed the top spot for Saturday's U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway.

Bayne is the third driver to accomplish the feat and the first in 18 years. The others were Sam Ard, Jeff Gordon, Michael Waltrip.

Bayne turned a lap of 133.206 mph in the No. 99 Diamond-Waltrip Racing, co-owned by Waltrip. Bayne also won the pole at Gateway and O'Reilly Raceway Park.

Kyle Busch was second after not getting a lap in practice, with Brian Scott third, Brad Keselowski fourth and Steve Wallace fifth. The rest of the top 10 were Jason Leffler, Kevin Harvick, Justin Allgaier, Matt DiBenedetto and Kevin Lepage.
