ESPN says its telecast of the Carfax 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 14 matched the same rating as the 2009 race.

Last year's event was shown on ESPN2, while the 2010 race was on ESPN. The Michigan race marked the second time the new Nationwide Series race was used.

The race had a final national household coverage rating of 1.4, averaging 1,799,711 viewers. Viewership was up 10 percent over the 2009 race.

Michigan marked the ninth consecutive applicable race that showed the same or increased ratings over last year's.
