LEBANON, Tenn. - The front shock absorbers of Brad Keselowski's third-place Penske Racing Dodge were confiscated by NASCAR after the Nashville 300 Nationwide Series race and will be taken to its research and development center for further evaluation.

A NASCAR spokesperson said the shocks were taken because of "overall length extended too short."

Shocks are usually tested for rebound after a race, and they are given a specific amount of time to return to normal position.

Keselowski's team was fined last year for having illegal shocks after the win at Talladega.

Since Keselowski is ineligible for Nationwide Series drivers points, any points penalties would likely be dealt to the No. 22 team, which is ninth in the owners standings after Saturday's race.
