Brad Keselowski will skip the U.S. Cellular 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway because of his crash in testing this week at Road Atlanta, Penske Racing announced Thursday.
Sam Hornish Jr. will practice, qualify and race Penske's No. 22 Dodge on Saturday.
Keselowski crashed the No. 2 Sprint Cup Dodge at Road Atlanta, suffering a broken left ankle. He was cleared to compete in this weekend's Cup race at Pocono Raceway.
"After meeting with Brad Keselowski today it became clear that, despite an avulsion fracture of the left ankle, he would be able to compete this weekend at Pocono Raceway without any limitations," neurologist Dr. Jerry Petty said in a statement. "Mr. Keselowski saw an orthopedic surgeon this afternoon who indicated that he would be able to put weight on the foot as necessary and should not be inhibited in any way."
