The television ratings for the Aug. 6 NASCAR Nationwide Series U.S. Cellular 250 were down 14.3 percent over last year's race, according to figures by the Nielsen Company released by ESPN.
The race on ESPN2, which saw Ricky Stenhouse Jr. win by being knocked over the finish line by runner-up Carl Edwards, earned a 1.2 household coverage rating. The 2010 event earned a1.4 rating.
The 2011 race averaged 1,682,000 viewers.
Iowa marked the fifth time in the last six Nationwide Series races that saw a ratings decline over 2010.
